12 March 2017
Bridging the Gap Foundation proudly present “Indian Colour Festival – Holi”. You can’t miss the celebrations as there will be a tent in the inner courtyard where we encourage everyone to come by and play some Holi.
Holi is the spring festival in India which is celebrated by throwing and putting coloured powder on one another. Holi signifies the arrival of spring and the end of winter.
There will be food stalls around the tent so there will be plenty of food and beverages to enjoy when you need a break from playing!
Colour packages are available to buy for €2.50 per packet. Children under 3 years old aren't permitted at this event. Buy your tickets online today for only €6.- from: http://bit.ly/IndianColour17
Diwali Festival 2017
7 October 2017
The Diwali Festival is an annual event which is taking place for the 9th time thanks to the overwhelming response from the public. This year the Diwali Festival will take on the 7th of October from 12:00 till 19:00 at Stadsplein in Amstelveen. The festival welcomes everyone as you take a small trip through India discovery the different taste and culture of the land.
There are various food stalls catered by prestigious India restaurants in the Netherlands as well as vendors where you can purchase Indian artifacts, trinkets, clothing etc.
The entertainment on stage doesn't stop even for a moment and is entertaining for all ages with interactive workshops, dances and songs. This all ranges from a children’s fashion depicting the beautiful clothes of India to Bhangra dancers and Dhol players. Of course we can’t forget the unmissable performances by Saxy Mr S, Norman Soares (from Sensation), Madan Dance School and Madhoerie Dance Company. This list of acts and performances really doesn’t end here – there is so much more to see, discover and learn thanks to the dance professionals who will be teaching the audience a few moves.
You can taste the flavors of India thanks to the various restaurants representing the different states of Indian cuisine.
